Last sunday we performed in, what I consider as, one of the most beautiful and best theaters of The Netherlands.
In 1989 architect and professor Herman Hertzberger got the assignment to design the building. An important condition was that the new space would accommodate theater, music and film in all its forms. In 1995 it was time to pop the champagne! Architecture critics from The Netherlands and abroad hastened to see the property. The newspapers spoke of the “first 20th century architectural monument in the Low Countries’.
I personally love the architecture / design / structure and flow of the building. In and outside. It’s, yes, perfect!
What I find interesting, is that sometimes I don’t remember a theater when I see it from the front. Because we usually get dropped off at the back or the side where the artist entrance is. So…
