Copenhagen Dispatch

A brief European dispatch from my final week up in the Northern Hemisphere at the end of October… this time I was lucky enough to have been in Copenhagen, the Danish capital. Dotted with incredible architecture from across the centuries, divided up through meandering waterways, and then threaded back together with the most incredible network of cycle paths, Copenhagen offers up some stunning sights. It is also perhaps a city that well typifies the Danish national psyche of balance, calm and harmony. A low and uncluttered skyline allows the spires of the grand cathedrals and royal palaces to soar overhead, while at street level the city is kept light, green and open through the inclusion of many parks, gardens and nature reserves. The day-to-day duties of a busy metropolitan lifestyle go on of course, but there is a sense of serene tranquility that blankets the city – the hushed tones…
